Why Siasat

We see the Indonesian subject as one that constantly defies structures. Be it laws, norms, regulations, consent, structures, or your very own parents. It so seems that the Indonesian subject is always looking for a loophole. The word “siasat” itself means “manoeuvre”. It indicates a certain move. Or tactics. Trickeries and ruse. Siasat is thus an expression of autonomy. In short, siasat is, in its most unassuming form, our answer to agency.

We believe that this befits what we aim to portray and achieve through this platform.
